Bajaj Auto Limited is a very important player in the Indian two-wheeler industry providing tough competition to the Hero and Honda brands. The Pulsar 135LS is priced around Rupees 59,260, the 150DTSi Rupees 65,497, the 180DTSi Rupees 70,243, the 200NS Rupees 85,631 and the 220F Rupees 82,023. The Pulsar variants give miles of 55 to 68 kmpl. The 200NS has water cooled and the 220F oil cooled engines. The 220Fand NS200 has disc brakes at the front and the back. The electricals of the 220F include an alternator.
The Bajaj Discover with a sales figure of 49,551 units for August 2014 is another popular bike with 100 cc, 125 cc and 150cc variants quoted from Rupees 44001 to 58,739. The Bajaj Discover 150DTSi is the cheapest Indian bike in 150 cc segment. The Discover models give miles from 72 kmpl to 84 kmpl. The 100 cc variants have drum type brakes at both the ends and the 125 and 150 cc models disc brakes at the front and the drum type at the rear.
The 100 cc bike the Bajaj Platina comes with prices of Rupees 36,784 and 38,774 for the two variants. The bike has an electric start in addition to the kick start. The Platina is powered by a 100 cc engine giving mileages of 62 kmpl.
The Bajaj Avenger introduced in 2005 with a 180 cc engine was upgraded to 200 cc and later to 220 cc. The present form of the Bajaj Avenger DTSi introduced in 2013 is priced around Rupees 76,850. The Avenger powered by a 220 cc, 19 bhp engine gives miles of 55 kmpl and a top speed of 135 kmph. The KTM bikes now produced by the Bajaj also have a lot of customers in India. The KTM variants Duke200, RC200, Duke 390 and RC 390 are priced Rupees 1.38, 1.69, 1.91 and 2.17 lakh respectively. The fuel efficiencies of KTM bikes are 30 to 35 kmpl and the top speeds 135 to 165 kmph.
